Sanju Samsonscored his maiden T20I century in the third India vs Bangladesh T20I match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12).
After a string of poor performances of late, the right-handed batsman has bounced back with a stunning knock. He made his intentions clear in the second over of the game by hitting Tashkin Ahmed for four consecutive boundaries. There was no looking back after that as he blew Bangladesh away with his whirlwind knock.
Rishad Hussain hit his fifty in the seventh over, hitting two fours and a six in three consecutive deliveries. Samson reached his fifty in just 22 balls. Even after completing his half-century, the Kerala star was unstoppable.
In the tenth over, Sanju took Samson Hossain to the cleaners again, hitting five consecutive sixes. After Hossain hit point, Samson hit the second ball down the ground for a straight six. On the third ball, he hit a long-on six.
In the fourth ball, Samson hit another straight six down the ground to complete his hat-trick of sixes. The fourth six went towards long-on before the India opener hit another six over deep mid-wicket.

Five consecutive sixes took Samson into the 90s before completing his 13th century. In the first ball, he hit Mahedi Hasan for a four to reach his maiden T20I ton.
Samson reached his century in just 40 balls. The 40-ball ton is the second fastest T20I century by an Indian. Samson finally departed after 111 runs. His knock came off 47 balls and was studded with 11 fours and 8 sixes.
Talking about the game, India were 289/5 in the 20th over. India have already surpassed their highest T20I tally. Their previous highest score in this format was 260/5 in 2017 against Sri Lanka. Apart from Samson, captain Suryakumar Yadav also scored a quick knock of 75 runs. His knock was just 35 balls.
