Australia’s latest debutant Sam Constas has shown to be an entertaining character in his short time in international cricket. Konstas made a dream debut with a brilliant fifty against India at the MCG.
But the road to the fifty was eventful for him as he was involved in a shoulder clash with India’s great cricketer Virat Kohli. The incident happened after a heated argument between the two of them.
Recently, Constas was seen mimicking Kohli’s shoulder barge on the second day of the Melbourne Test. When he began to move his shoulder, he gathered the attention of the crowd. The home crowd stood up as soon as they saw Konstas and supported his actions.

Watch: Sam Constas pokes fun at Virat Kohli
The Australian crowd and public became very hostile towards Virat Kohli after his shoulder clash with Sam Constas. The Australian media even used words like “bully” and “clown” for the former Indian captain.
The incident between Virat Kohli and Sam Constas
Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas clashed on the shoulder on the first day of the Boxing Day Test. After the tenth over of Australia’s innings, Kohli seemed to change direction suddenly and shouldered Constas.
Kohli hit back as the two players shared a few verbal volleys with each other. Neither of them backed down as Constas’ opening partner Usman Khawaja stepped in and had to separate the two.
Later in the day, the ICC found Virat Kohli guilty of the offense and fined him 20 percent of his match fee. Kohli pleaded guilty to the charge and as a result no further hearing was required.
However, Constas did not seem fazed by the incident and continued to attack the Indian bowlers. He took some gutsy shots from Jasprit Bumrah, India’s top fast bowler, and put him under pressure with scoops and reverse scoops. Young scored a fiery 60 from 65 in his first test shots.
Sam Konstas gave Australia a great start
Meanwhile, Australia raced off to a fast start thanks to Sam Konstas’ excellent knock at the top. Usman Khawaja gave him a wonderful half-century of good company. Marnus Labuschagne failed to turn another start into a big start and was dismissed for 72.
But it was Steve Smith who started the show as he smashed 140 off 197 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes. Smith made a fine run with the tailenders to get Australia a strong first innings of 474. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India with 4-99.
In reply, the Australian bowlers were superb and picked off Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul cheaply. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli led the innings with a fine partnership of 102 runs. However, Jaiswal’s wicket opened the floodgates for Australia as India lost the series 3-6.
Allrounders Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar were the unexpected stars of the third day for India as both of them were going beautifully as India crossed the next mark.
