Leicester City have flirted with relegation all season after being promoted to the Premier League following last season’s Championship success.

Manager Steve Cooper was recently sacked and replaced by Ruud van Nistelrooy, but that has not been able to change the club’s fortunes.

They are currently 19th in the Premier League, having picked up just 14 points from their 22 Premier League games with a goal difference of -25.

Club bosses had hoped that appointing Van Nistelrooy could act as a catalyst to bring about change, but in 10 games so far under the Dutch manager, only two have ended as victories for them.

Leicester City’s latest defeat came against Fulham when they were beaten 2-0 and the manager was booed by sections of the crowd.

Questions are already being raised about Van Nistelrooy’s future at the club, with some claiming his position could be in trouble given the form they are currently in.

Football pundit Martin Keown is among those who have questioned the manager’s future, claiming he is already fighting to save his Leicester career.

Speaking to Final Score, he reports Leicester City newssaid:

“They’ve lost seven games on the bounce and look Van Nistelrooy got the job, really got into the Manchester United job, had a couple of good results and all of a sudden it’s all the rage.

“He almost came out of nowhere and now you’re wondering are they going to address this again? Does he even keep his job?

“He’s under enormous pressure. This is a game he would have seen, if he could win, get out of the last three.”

Should Leicester City sack Ruud van Nistelrooy?

Perhaps it is too early to part with the manager and considering the current situation of the club, hardly any other manager would be able to make drastic changes.

Leicester lost money by sacking Cooper and would hope to avoid that situation.

There is no doubt that the Dutch manager has not had the same impact that people had hoped for, but the club will most likely rely on him until the end of the season.

Another football pundit, Paul Merson, has it talked about Leicester’s chances stay in the Premier League this season.
