Ryan Garcia worked with his coach, Eddy Reynoso, in the gym today, with his hand speed and a powerful left hook on the reflex bag. Garcia (24-1, 20 COs) prepares him for his Another announced battle against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in May.

Garcia seems to weigh in the 160s and not yet fighting against form. His match against Rolly is supposed to be at welterweight, so he doesn’t have much weight to lose to coming to 147. Ryan’s left hook looks as powerful as ever. Rolly (16-2, 13 COs) will have to be far more defensive in this battle than he showed in his knockout loss to Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz last year on March 30 if he didn’t want to stop.
There are reports that Garcia will be in New York against Romero on May 2, but it was not made official. If that date is stuck, Ryan will come down from 13 months since his last fight against Devin Haney. Garcia was suspended by the New York State Athletic Commission for a year for testing positive for a PED.

Garcia’s fight against Rolly will prepare him for a re -broadcast with Devin Haney in October. Turki Alalshikh is taking this battle. Haney will be on Ryan’s bottom map in May with a warm -up fight.
Ryan is no longer at Coach Derrick James. He replaced him with Reynoso, but it’s unclear why. He did well with James, but maybe it’s better to go in with Reynoso because of the location for training in South California. Reynoso Train Canelo Alvarez, and it will motivate Ryan to be around the superstar.
