Ryan Garcia slams Terence Crawford: ‘Overwhelming, boring and wasting everyone’s money’

Ryan Garcia says Terence Crawford is an “overhyped” fighter who is “boring” and “wasting everyone’s money” because he is “not entertaining.”

Fans were mistaken about Crawford’s style

Fans who haven’t followed Crawford’s fights throughout his 16-year career mistakenly thought that the way he fought last year against the scrappy version of Errol Spence was how he always fights.

Crawford doesn’t usually fight like this. The only reason he let his hands go like that was because Spence was like a zombie emerging from the crypt after reviving. Normally, Crawford boxes his opponents, changing stance unnecessarily and moving around the ring.

Garcia dares Crawford, 36, to challenge him in the ring if he believes he’s talking trash. It probably won’t happen because Crawford only wants a fight against Canelo Alvarez and nobody else. Whether he would change his mind if the money was good for a fight against Ryan is unknown.

Crawford is not in the same league as the 26-year-old Ryan who brings in ratings and PPV buys. We only saw this clearly with Crawford’s fight against Israil Madrimov which reportedly did poor numbers on PPV and failed to sell out BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Garcia tells no lies. Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) is not and never has been an entertaining fighter, unless you’re a fan of watching pure boxing.

Ryan dismisses Crawford’s career

Superstar Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) feels Crawford hasn’t beaten anyone during his 16-year career, apart from car crasher Errol Spence.

“Terence Crawford really didn’t beat anyone except Errol Spence, who went through a car accident. Name 1 guy he beat besides Spence who is well known! Crawford is not like that,” Ryan Garcia told the Say Cheese YouTube channel about Terence Crawford.

“He’s an overhyped bum. You waste everyone’s money, and you don’t entertain; you are boring Come see me in the ring if you think I talk (good),” says Ryan.

Crawford probably isn’t going to take Ryan up on his offer unless His Excellency offers him the kind of money he expects to get for a fight against Canelo. Ryan would bring in all the PPV buys for a fight against Crawford, and the Nebraska native would just have to sit back.

“He looked like he was on his way to becoming the new Mayweather. I knew what I was there for. I knew what my goal was,” Ryan said of his win over Devin Haney last April. “I had a belief in myself, and nobody was going to take that away from me.”

People made a mistake and thought Haney was going to beat Ryan because he didn’t look good in his fight against Vasily Lomachenko.

“I’m a great boxer. I have only lost the Gervonta battle. So, they (Team Haney) kind of underestimated me.

“I know I’m the most Googled fighter in the last three months,” Ryan Garcia said when asked if he was the face of boxing. “There are three of us. Me, Gervonta and Canelo who are all going to tune in. I think it’s more me and Gervonta.

“I feel like I put in more work to be the face of boxing. In this day and age of social media, you have to put in the work. You have to do interviews. You have to be there for the people,” Ryan said.
