Ruben Amorim’s decision not to keep Ruud van Nistelrooy at Man United following his appointment as new manager has left the Dutch manager devastated following his departure.
The Portuguese manager has replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford seat and the former Sporting CP manager has this week started work at the Premier League club after having to serve a short notice period following to be officially confirmed as Manchester’s new coach.
United are currently 13th in the Premier League table, but the mood around the club has improved in recent weeks thanks to the work done by Van Nistelrooy.
The 48-year-old returned to Man United in the summer and was asked to temporarily manage the Premier League club following the sacking of Ten Hag. The former striker’s time in charge of the Red Devils was a huge success as the Dutch manager went unbeaten in his four games in charge, winning three, allowing him to leave with 75 win percentage
Many in the Man United squad wanted Van Nistelrooy to stay and the 48-year-old admitted he would either way.. However, this was not in Amorim’s plans.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been devastated by the departure of Man United
Amorim decided not to have Van Nistelrooy as part of his backroom staff quickly following his appointment as Man United boss as the Portuguese manager made the decision to bring in his own trusted squad from Sporting from Lisbon.
This left the Dutch coach “devastated”, he reports The Mirroras the 48-year-old hoped to continue at Old Trafford as he was still under contract with the Manchester club.
This is the right decision by Amorim as the Man United manager is a very controlled position and if a person wants to succeed in the role, they need people they can trust behind them.
