Ruben Amorim will hold his first press conference as Manchester United manager on Friday afternoon when he faces the media ahead of his debut in the dugout.
The 39-year-old was appointed successor to Erik ten Hag in early November, but remained at Sporting CP until the international break, with Ruud van Nistelrooy winning three of his four matches as interim manager.
Amorim has already been seen introducing his principles to the Red Devils team during training and will lead his new side for the first time on Sunday when they visit Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
First, however, he will meet the press from around 14:00 GMT for what is likely to be a discussion on a wide range of topics relating to his arrival as United’s new boss.
The former Portugal international has it he was already talking about his desire to return glory to Old Traffordwhich has been the sad scene for too many hellish days for the club in recent years.
Amorim will likely be asked about his mission to improve unitedThe current league standings are 13th ahead of the weekend, while there is also plenty of anticipation around the system change that will affect.
His Sporting team generally played with three centre-backs and full-backs, which would be a departure from the 4-2-3-1 formation that Ten Hag tried to implement in just over two seasons.
There could be some interesting roles for certain United players when they take on Ipswich, who picked up their first win of the season before the international break with a 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Amorim has inherited one team full of injuries and it could be without some big names, although there has been some encouraging progress in the fitness department in recent weeks.
There is hope of a summer signing Leny Yoro could be available to make his first competitive appearance for United after recovering from a foot problem, while at left-back Luke Shaw returned to first team training earlier this month after suffering a calf strain in the preseason.
