Ruben Amorim will replace Erik ten Hag as Man United manager in the coming weeks and the Portuguese manager is already making the same mistake as his predecessor at Old Trafford.

The Dutch manager was sacked by the Manchester club on Monday following the Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat by West Ham last weekend, adding to their baffling 2024/25 campaign the Premier League giants.

United’s hierarchy moved quickly to secure Ten Hag’s successor and secured a deal for Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim within days.

The Portuguese manager has already agreed to become Man United’s new manager and will see the Red Devils part with €11 million to lure him away from Lisbon, as this is the player’s release clause in his contract 39 years old, reports. Sky Sports.

Amorim will reportedly start work at Old Trafford on November 11 Fabrizio Romanoand the Sporting manager may already be making a mistake that Ten Hag routinely made while Man United manager.

Will Ruben Amorim make the same mistake as Erik ten Hag at Man United?

Although Amorim is yet to be officially confirmed as Man United’s new manager, it is reported that the Sporting manager could be on the verge of making the same mistake that Ten Hag did at Old Trafford.

according to TEAMtalkthe Portuguese manager has asked United to reunite him with Sporting’s Goncalo Inacio, Marcus Edwards and Pedro Goncalves in 2025.

It would be a huge mistake for the 39-year-old as Ten Hag regularly brought players he worked with in the Netherlands to Old Trafford and given the difference between the Premier League and the Eredivisie, many of those players failed. Antoni is the first example.

History is likely to repeat itself if the Sporting manager follows this path, but given that Amorim has yet to walk through the door at Old Trafford, it’s hard to believe that the Portuguese manager is already making demands in terms of future signings.
