Ruben Amorim addresses the question of Marcus Rashford’s absence

Manchester United suffered another Premier League defeat on Christmas Day and Marcus Rashford was once again missing for the Red Devils.

Ruben Amorim’s side lost against Wolves after Bruno Fernandes was sent off for them in another game that Rashford missed because the manager did not select the England striker.

It was the fourth game in a row that Rashford had to sit out and watch his team-mates struggle to perform.

Since the Manchester derby, Rashford has been out of the team and at the moment it doesn’t appear that the manager has any confidence in the 27-year-old attacker.

Defeats against Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves and against Tottenham in the League Cup have made life difficult for Amorim at Man United and the Portuguese manager is struggling to save the sinking ship.

After the defeat against Wolves, Amorim was asked about the Rashford situation and the manager made it clear that nothing has changed regarding Man United’s young fans.

Fabrizio Romano reported on his X account what Amorim said after the loss against Wolves.

The Man United boss said:

“Any change in Rashford’s situation? If he’s not here… you can decide.”

“It’s always the same reason. We have to be the same professionals, the same guys, win or lose. Losing, I have to be stronger.”

“I will continue with my idea to the end.”

Rashford seems to have no future at Man United under Amorim. The manager and the club have decided on the English striker.

Rashford has fallen down the pecking order and Amorim has made it clear he prefers to play with other strikers.

The 27-year-old has admitted he is ready for a new challenge and has since been linked with a move away from the club.

It’s an unfortunate moment for Rashford, who should be playing his best football at this age but spends time on the sidelines watching his team-mates play.

It would be the best decision for both player and club to part ways and go their separate ways.

Along with Rashford, Christian Eriksen is also likely to leave the club next year, according to Romano.
