I have been hypercritic in Nike’s inability to make a high -performance golf shoe. Despite my personal love for the brand and the fact that my shoe closet is 80 percent per percent, they have ever struggled to push the envelope in Golf.
Nike has always excelled in turning famous silhouettes into golf shoes. Pegasus, Roshe and Air Max Plus are among some of my favorites. But when it comes to building a golf shoe from the ground up? Past iterations have fought.
Some are very tight. Others have incorrect attraction. But after getting my hands in Rory Mcilroy’s new shoe, The Victory Tour 4, I’m More optimistic than ever with the place where the brand is going.
New Tour Victory 4 is the best Nike golf shoes of this decade.
That’s why.
Flight clothes is legal
WTF is a flying plate and why should you take care? Short Answer: Stability. In the past, I have felt that Nike’s signature golf models lack side stability. Tour Victory 4 uses a special carbon fiber plaque to provide side stiffness while remains flexible in the other direction.
What does that mean? Stable stable when swinging (when force is moving sideways) but flexible when walking. This combination makes it a much better foot shoe than previous repetitions while adding the very necessary resistance to the turn and overall stability.
Tech is a legal technology that actually works.
Cushlon is quiet
While I am generally a fan of Nike’s softer foam, Tour Victory 4 rests on Cushlong to provide step -by -step comfort. One of the strongest foams in the wide Nike formation which joins well with the increased durability of the flight plate.
Midsole Cushlon is quite comfortable for a walk, but it is not the same pillow goodness that you can find from a shoe that rests on Zoomx or another of Nike’s fewer foam foams. I would compare it to a strong mattress of the memory foam. There is just enough to feel from that “sinking” feeling without feeling too teddy or as you are ending.
If you want to spend all the technology speeches, here’s what you need to know. Nike Victory Tour 4 is one of the most comfortable shoes with I’ve tried this year. And that is saying something.
They finally updated the adaptation
One of the big issues with past Nike golf shoes has been appropriate. Even as someone with a standard foot of width (I’m actually closer to close than I’m wide), I found Nike’s golf shoes to run tight.
For this reason, I always buy a half -high size from my standard.
Am happy to report that Nike Victory Tour 4 has a much better fit. Snug on the heel and more wide in the middle box and the leg box. I could have easily gone to my standard size in this pair. For those with wide legs, they still offer this pair in width that is a beautiful touch.
Tested
I’ve never been a brand fan trying to build their points. There is a reason that the best shoes in the game use the same rivets. To Tour Victory 4, Nike has used a good set of spikes from softspots and provides the withdrawal level you will expect from each Good pair of shoes with golf shoes.
Two gloves
I have two grips with the Tour Victory 4. It would be dysingenuous for me to call it the perfect golf shoe, even if it is ultimately the best Nike of the decade. The first thing I would change is the structure of the language. It was very thin and had to have been glued to the top of the shoe. On the contrary, it moves all over the place and rubs the ankle. Not constantly (it didn’t cause a bladder) but I had to fix it several times throughout my round.
The next thing I would change is just the overall styling of shoes. … Is… very boring? Yes “very boring” is the best way to say it. Standard, not special pairs of black and white just do not speak to me as other shoes do. Hopefully, we have more entertainment opportunities for future colors, outside the NRG couples Nike usually makes for diplomas.
A victory for Nike
Not at the same level as Mcilroy’s historical victory in Masters … But Nike has absolutely increased their game and Tour Victory 4 is evidence that when the world’s largest brand in the world decides to take things seriously, they can unite a working product.
