Rory Mcilroy arrived at Houston Open of 2025 children in Texas seeking to fill his confidence cup in his latest tuning before the 2025 masters.
The big champion four times already won twice this season in PGA Tour. Mcilroy believes he is now a more complete player, which is a claim that statistics are supported.
Mcilroy collided in the first round in Memorial This week, but finished his Prep masters by going 65-64 on the weekends to charge a T5 end. This final preparation included a driver’s tweet, which Mcilroy made during a session range after the third round of Saturday.
“I just removed a little of the attic,” Mcilroy said on Sunday after the last round that without Min woo lee record his first victory in PGA Tour. “So I felt like it was falling a little better, especially if I would like to hit the cuts, so I got a little from the attic.
Jordan Spieth shares masters’ thoughts: Augusta firm, fix Rory and more
Mcilroy will not play next week at Valero Texas Open. Instead he will work to call his home game before going straight Augusta National To make another run in the green jacket.
“I still feel like I got some things to work,” Mcilroy said where his game is going to masters. “Still don’t think that my game is absolutely 100 percent under the control I would like, but it’s good to have a week to work on a few things. I’ve got my coach, Michael Bannon, coming tomorrow, so we’ll work home and make sure my game feels good going to masters.”
The last week of Masters Prep will also include some jobs outside the course. Mcilroy told NBC Sports’ Kira K. Dixon that his right elbow is “bothers him a little”, and he will receive treatment during his home week to make sure he is okay in front of the masters.
Northern Irish made a scouting trip to Augusta National Evaluate each tweak at coursese. Traveling to Augusta was routine, but the trees missing in the 16th green that Hurrican Hellenic collapsed during the visit.
“Losing some trees is obviously visible,” Mcilroy said on Wednesday. “But in terms of as they had to redo it green, but it’s exactly the same as it was. The hole will play – besides perhaps some shades less in green a day due to some trees that lost – but besides, it’s almost very the same.”
Mcilroy’s ability to “manage his game” and “his losses” has been the key to his clean game this season. This sharpened course management is a product of a mentality change that Mcilroy decided in place after watching how the world No.1 Scottie Scheffler attacks the courses.
He knows what is required to win at Augusta National. Next week for Mcilroy will be for adjusting his game while he seems to break a big drought that is now entering its 11th year.
“So this week, moving forward, it’s just about feeling as comfortable as I can be with the things I have worked on, which is a kind of iron game, wedge,” Mcilroy said. “Of course, the short game is really, really important even about Augusta. You know, work for those things over the next few days, and I hope, I’m feeling well going there.”
