Rory Mcilroy, on the way to work with Justin Rose on Tuesday, says he was talking to him about it. In the Pro Golf World, the Ole 9 to 5 label is drawn for a 1 to 52 label, as there is always another tour, always another pace, always another shaky thought, from New Year’s Day to New Year’s Eve. Your mind, he was not seeking regret and the types of work working in the office would not give anyone.
However, it may begin to feel drudgerous, though somewhat less so when Mcilroyof northern Ireland, and roseof England, return closer to the house, which they have done this week, in Genesis Scottish.
“Yes, I think the only thing I would say for the last two weeks,” Mcilroy said, “Have I felt like I can break a little more and hide in some way.
“But I think if you get rid of that environment-Justin Rose and I came back here yesterday and we were just talking about-I don’t know, there is a break from the type of week, rough when you come back here, when playing PGA Golf for that first 25, 30 weeks of the year.”
For those who maintain the result, we are in week 28 of 2025, and the previous 27 have been important for Mcilroy. At the beginning of February, he Won at Pebble Beach. In the middle of March, he won the player championship. In early April, he won the masterswhich ended the Grand Slam career. Then there have been weeks since that time, which have been prominent, due to the average game according to its standards, some Flare-ups reporter and some Driver’s questions. And yet, so far, there is reason to believe that Mcilroy will continue, thanks to not only a successful record, but also a proven faculty to be repulsed.
He has the attitude of power. Longevity. That he said Wednesday is “one of the things underestimated for every sport”.
Of course, the idea is not surprising. But it is discoverer.
“You see what you are doing (Novak) Gjokovic in Wimbledon over the past two weeks,” Mcilroy said, “or what some of those boys or what someone like a Cristiano Ronaldo is still doing at age 40, or Tom Brady in American football; that part of longevity is probably not taken enough.
“Because once you have reached a certain level, I feel like traveling on the right track is almost – it’s not – I will not say it is easy, but you are riding in that wave on top. And then after you get there, yes, it needs just as much work, if no more work, to stay there. Scottie Scheffler”
Continuous adjustment, Mcilroy said, is fraud. What you had a decade ago may be outdated.
Rory Mcilroy discovered a New Year’s resolution. Did he submit it?
But you have to remember who you are. Is a balanced act.
“So these talents and these players just continue to come and continue to become better every generation,” Mcilroy said, “and I think you have to adjust your game to make sure you are able to hang these generations, and I feel like I’m a generation ahead of Scottie, which is still in its 20s.
“You see all these youngest children coming, the likes of a Michael Thorbjornsen OR Luke Clanton Or these guys who are essentially willing to play at the top level that comes out of the college, and you have to make sure you are staying on top of what makes you such a great player. But you also need to look at the trends and see, well, well, the guys who are playing well, what they are doing or what they are – is there something I have to add to my repertoire to continue trying to stay in front of them. “
The question is: How long will he do it?
With mcilroy, age is one thing. He is 36 years old, and the good golf years are certainly left. And yet, on Wednesday, he spoke about his family by settling in a new home in England. He talked about to haveMore “fun”, a New Year’s resolution and he has taken steps towards fulfilling this watching a German football match, stopping in Istanbul “for a night of rest”, and taking his daughter, Poppy, skiing on Montana. This is a kind of globe, for sure. But new advantages can occur.
Then is Grand Slam, a more famous achievement after strain for it from the 2015 masters. It will probably liberate it for more degrees. Or maybe concentration will be difficult. Last month, at US Open, he accepted so much. He would dream of winning in Augusta – “But you don’t think about what comes next,” he said in Oakmont. Time will show the direction that Mcilroy will travel.
Although maybe there is time already said. While underestimated, longevity gains some benefits of doubt.
“It is my 18th year or tour,” Mcilroy said. “I have won professional events for 16 years, and I just think my push to continue to try to do a little better or try to look for a little holes in my game that I can fix, I think that’s a big part of it.”
