Welcome! Where are you, you ask. I’m calling it this weekend 9. Think of it as a place to warm you for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will have thoughts. We will have tips. We will have tweets. But only nine at all, though sometimes perhaps more and sometimes perhaps less. How much for whom am I? The paragraphs below show some of the stories. I can reach nick.piastowski@golf.com.
For 20 years now, I wondered who wore a 50 yard car over my head in Bethpage Black.
To start this mystery, however, we must return for another six years, until 1999. That summer, as I interned, I lived at Huntington station, NY, home for a shopping mall called Walt Whitman, Friendly restaurants and my first Long Island Rail Road experience. But Bethpage was where I had to go, I was told by Layers. Five golf courses. Grillroom. All a few miles away. Say less. I played the red. And green. And blue. And yellow. But because of the wonderful hours of the practitioner and gentle fear, I never got into black – but I regretted it. In my last day, I tried, but it was booked and bought a head cover.

$ 39.99/year
But Ethan was – and is still – a tip helluva. In 2004, I was the best man at his wedding. And he knew I would cheat not to play black. So as a gift of a better man, he wanted us to give him a movement. Stay in Long Island. See the city. Play golf. Yessir.
Then the rain.
Every day.
We reached nine holes in the green, ending in a leak – which made a firefighter in a nearby fire shout for a speaker: “Enter the Freakin idiots.” So we did, we had a pint and left. But we returned to our last day. This time, Ethan wanted a souvenir and for amusement, I looked at the Times Board.
Had a black opening.
For $ 45. The dusk rate.
Thirty minutes later, we left, and I tied my first ball that left ridiculously. Who cares? We were in. We were paired with a father and son of Long Island. A forty was behind us.
You can know where this is going. The first paragraph gives it.
On the 5th, our fourth was 300-some meters away, when a ball fell on us, 50 yards ahead.

The dad we were paired with. He shouted. Worddo the other word he said started with the letter F. he needed a pardon. He told us we should not move. Ethan and I were, well, feeling some things. Confusion? Yes. Scary? Yes. But mostly curiosity. What would you go down?
And who hit that ball ??
It was… a 15-year-old.
He apologized. An elderly man with him apologized. Our partner playing said several different things. But as he left, I whispered to the child:
“Nice blow.”
But I never caught his name, though perhaps the ‘Bomber Mystery Teen of Bethpage’ makes a better story. As for the point here, besides needing an introduction to our weekly conversation? Since this Ryder Cup was announced, I have been convinced that golf will not see that it will not happen bigger. Event in the team. In Long Island. In a muna. A girlfriend. CC of the people.
Where everyone has a story.
Let’s see if we can find eight other items for weekend 9. (And if you have a Bethpage story yourself, send me. I love a good thread.
A receipt from Java that was
2 An interview Rory Mcilroy did with the group off the ball this week at Amgen Irish Open hit me. In it, while talking about his next motivation His masters winHe was asked if he could win the masters again, and he responded in this way – which also again showed his loyalty with Caddy Harry Diamond:
“The second green jacket, a second Claret container, a second of the US Open,” Mcilroy said. “You know, Harry told me very soon after I won Augusta, he said, it’s good for you to have Grand Slam won, but I still don’t. So I was like, so it’s good. It would be good to be able to do it with Harry. The chance to win a green jacket.

Another receipt from Java that was
3 On Wednesday, a member of our team wrote on our Slack channel: “When will Paddy write a self-help book?” Thought was in response to Padraig Harrington’s The press conference ahead of Amgen Irish Open, where Harrington answered 12 questions from reporters, but spoke for about 20 minutes, confirming again he can simply be the best golf thinker.
This exchange was my favorite, with the reporter’s question in Italy:
How do you keep the fire in your stomach?
“I have this theory that I fit very nicely, of course until my age group,” Harrington said. “Most of the careers last about 20 years, but they are seven or eight years before you start getting into it and reaching the peak. You probably have 18 months, two years of real peak, a few years after that, and then 15-20 years, you are still playing out, but you were burnt out, and I would have reflected it.
“I see the peak of the careers of people that happen much earlier. It 18-month run, two-season running can happen two or three years, four years in their careers, but no one is good after peak. That’s the nature of the game. So yes, burning, and would come for me in 2016, about 20 years. I played golf.
“I found a new rent in life. The Champions Tour has finally helped with this. The strange thing is, I play better, (and) the temptation is to return to work harder and come back to try more. Pretyty is very simple. I describe it like this: 15 years ago, if someone would have gone for. Paul, I have taken this thing, I would not go to that kind, I would not go for dinner, excellent, I will change everything to go to that dinner.
“I’m burning me trying a lot. To get up three and a half hours before your time, a young man can do it. I look at the young boys and see them doing things in the gym and everything, and I go, yes, I have done them all. You just can’t keep that pace.
“I’m revived because I’ve found a new way. I’ve always wanted to play golf. I’ve always wanted to practice, but I need to have a different view. I think it’s for most golf.”

A golf story I saw interesting
6. I thought this was interesting. In a last episode of Podcast -it “Fore Play” of Barstool, Tommy Fleetwood spoke about how he put his mini driver into play – and said he would learn about it through Fred’s couples.
“So I was in Masters in 2023,” Fleetwood said. “Fred the couples is in the range with this mini chili driver. And I mean, Fred talks to everyone in the verse in the masters. Just as he likes to talk, hit balls, whatever. And he comes to me, he starts talking, he is talking about this club. He is going, ‘have you tried this club? I’m going to hit this everywhere. I’m looking at it, I was like, ‘Yes, it looks beautiful’. Like whatever.
“However, I got one in Hilton Head next week and hit him everywhere all week and I was like, this club is incredible. So I had one since then, as a word for that day. And I think I would have to give Fred Credit couples because he was probably the first to use it and I was probably the number two but I was probably that I was. and it was really popular. ”

What are you emailing me
11 Below is an email I received this week:
“Playerdo player who played in a Ryder Cup talks about what honor is to be part of the Ryder Cup team and what a dream has come true.
“But the captains these days are more interested in the rights of boasting the cup than to spread the honor of representing the US or Europe as many aspiring players.
“Unfortunately the media generally did not flag this practice and criticizes it. Maybe you also believe that boasting rights are more important than the dream itself. A pity!”
