Chisato Iwai blocked the field on Sunday to mark its first LPGA career victory

Chisato Iwai entered the last round in the Mexico of LPGA Riviera Maya Open in Mayakoba a shot after the leader of 54 Jenny Bae holes but quickly assured that Sunday would be her day.
Japanese novice Zogu five of her first six holes on Sunday to take control of the tournament along the way to shoot a last round 66 that allowed her to shore in a six -shot victory. This six -stroke difference matches the biggest margin of victory this season in the LPGA.
“(My approach) is so quiet, every day, every time,” Iwai said after her victory. “It was just quiet. Good game.”
Chisato was not the only Iwai on the field after her identical twin sister, Akie, shot a last round 70 and ended up in a tie for 16th place.
Akie Iwai has two racing conclusions this season, but her sister entered the winner’s circle first thanks to Sunday’s prevailing performance.
Akie was there to dip her sister in the green 18 after the victory, but Chisato expects her daughter to win an even greater fire under her sister to try and match her early career achievements.
“I think my Akie sister would be motivated to win herself if I win,” Chisato said on Saturday after her third round.
Before Sunday’s victory, Chisato’s best end was a tie for the 11th in JM Eagle La Championship. The victory in Mexico comes in the perfect time for Chisato, who will go to Open Women Open, USA next week, along with her sister, with an increase in confidence and a heavy dose of the moment.
Chisato, who ended up in a tie for 19 at Open Women’s last year’s Open, was asked if the Mayakoba victory makes her feel better to go in a second year. She smiled and made a gesture with her hands, leaving room in the middle to signal her faith growth going to Erin Hills.
