On Friday evening May 2 in the third main event of the Fatal Fury: City of Wolves Card that took place on the New York Historic Times Square intersection, Rolando “Rolly” Romero (17-2, 13, food) shocked the world when he defeated Ryan Garcia (24-2, 20 coes).

Rolly Romero came into the attack, and was listed as a 7-1 underdog. Romero notified the box fans in the second round when he landed a double left hook that Garcia sent to the canvas. Fortunately for Garcia, he was able to get up and take it out of the round.
For the rest of the fight, Romero Garcia’s offense was able to neutralize as he landed his shots constantly. After the 12-round competition, Rolly Romero achieved a unanimous victory by the scores of (115-112, 115-112 and 118-109).
The Fatal Fury: City of Wolves event was supposed to be an opportunity for Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. The initial plan was for Haney and Garcia to perform well in their individual matches and then do their re -broadcast later this year.
It is clear that Rolly Romero did not get the memo because he went to Outbox Garcia and sailed to an upset victory. Since Romero played the Spoiler role, it would make Romero the perfect sense to take Ryan Garcia’s place.
A Devin Haney versus Rolly Romero fight would be an interesting battle for later this year. The way Haney looked at Ramirez would assume that Rolly Romero would have a good chance of winning the fight, but a fight against Haney is something Rolly doesn’t want.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Romero talked about his victory over Ryan Garcia and he also talked about his lack of interest in a possible match with Devin Haney.
‘Haney wasn’t a big battle to start with. He was not in a big fight when he fought against Ryan. And he was definitely not a big fight after he had just become a track star, ‘Romero said. “You tell me, really fast, are you excited to see someone fighting against Devin Haney?!”
Rolly’s track star quote stems from Haney’s May 2 against Jose Ramirez. For the majority of the Twelve Round Fight, Devin Haney used lateral movement and surrounded the ring while mostly throwing a single punch at a time.
The 29-year-old Rolando “Rolly” Romero has several options available. In the near future, Romero would like to participate in another pay-per-look against an opponent with a big name.
