Rohit Sharma’s India mocked? Pat Cummins breaks the silence on Travis Head’s “In the hole” party

Australian National Cricket Team captain Pat Cummins spoke about Travis Head’s celebration after he took the wicket of Rishabh Pant in the second innings of the fourth Test. He said it was a running joke within the camp and nothing to mock the Indian National Cricket Team.

Travis Head has once again proved to be a big hurdle for the Indian National Cricket Team in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. But this time he hit the ball and changed the course of the game in favor of the Australian National Cricket Team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant bring India back into the game after three early wickets

After losing three quick wickets at 340 runs, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant who brought the Indian National Cricket Team back into the game. The two fought hand in hand, got the team out of trouble and put pressure on the opponent again.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant made sure that the Indian National Cricket Team did not lose any wickets in the post lunch session as they were quite solid with the bat. The duo added 88 runs together and the way they went, it looked like they would help the team level the match.

But the situation changed in the last session when the ball was given to Head. He proved to be the man with the golden arm as he removed Rishabh Pant. It is fair to say that the wicket changed the course of the game and led to the collapse of the Indian National Cricket Team.

Travis Head bowled a ball at short which prompted Rishabh Pant to hit a big shot, but he failed to make the proper connection as he was caught at long on. This saw the pressure mount on the Indian camp as they lost seven wickets for just 34 runs in the final session and lost the game by 184 runs.

It was Travis Head’s reaction after taking the wicket that caught the attention of many. The Australian National Cricket Team created a celebration of its own by showing the finger on the other palm, which is like a hole.

This saw Travis Head face a lot of criticism for his recording. There were even calls from fans and pundits for the ICC to take action against the batters. It became a major talking point, but Skipper Pat Cummins put an end to the debate by explaining it.

His finger is so hot he’ll put it in a glass of ice – Pat Cummins on Travis Head’s ‘in the hole’ party

Pat Cummins said it was Travis Head’s celebration where his finger was hot and he put it in a cup of ice. He explained afterwards that the batter took wickets in one of the games and went straight for a bucket of ice to stick his finger in to taunt Nathan Lyon. Giving a statement to journalists, he explained them as follows:

“Oh, sorry! Yeah, okay! I can explain it. His finger is so hot he’ll stick it in a glass of ice. Yeah, that’s it. It’s usually a running joke. At the Gabba or somewhere, he’s got a wicket too and he comes straight to the fridge, grabs a bucket of ice, sticks his finger in, and just walks in front of Lyon (Nathan Lyon) He thinks it’s so funny, nothing else would happen.
