Rohit Sharma’s fan base forces MCA to expand venues for Mumbai vs J&K Ranji Trophy clash at BKC.


The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is all set to increase the seating arrangements at the BKC stadium for the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir. The match between the two teams will be played on Wednesday (January 23) and will feature Indian stars including Rohit Sharma.

Team Mumbai will also be loaded with Indian stars in Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer. Along with him, Ajinkya Rahane will also be there along with a host of other exciting players who will play in the match against Jammu and Kashmir in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.

With big names in action, the Mumbai Cricket Association expects fans to turn up in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. The stadium currently has 100 seats and the Association is expected to increase it to 500 for the upcoming game.

A source close to the Mumbai Cricket Association confirmed the development and said that fans will have to show their identity cards at the entry point. He also noted that security measures will be implemented in BKC. Speaking to “Times of India”, he explained them as follows:

“Normally, BKC has seating arrangements for around 100 spectators, but we will have around 500 seats for fans there near the ground mechanisms. Fans will have to show their I-card at the entry point. Considering the presence of India. Stars also at BKC appropriate security measures will be in place.”
