Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli’s failure in Australia Tests will lead to India overhaul, Sunil Gavaskar warns

According to various reports, the ultimatum has been given to both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The Indian National Cricket Team will reportedly look for new players if both fail to perform in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and the team fails to reach the final of the World Test Championship.

It is learned that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have already played the last home test and if it fails AustraliaThey will not be in the squad for the England tour. In the Test season at home, Rohit managed 133 runs in 10 innings while Kohli amassed 192 runs.

If they don’t score in Australia, there will be a buzz for Sunil Gavaskar about the new-look India team – Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Sunil Gavaskar also feels that if both players fail to score in Australia, the youngsters should be given a chance. He believes the time is coming for both legends and it will be tougher than guys in their 20s or early 30s. Speaking to India Now, he explained:

“Of course. If they don’t score in Australia, there will be a clamor for a new-look Indian team to start the England tour.”

“It’s ticking for everybody. It’s not just them. But because they’re in their 30s and early 30s, it’s going to be harder than it is for guys in their 20s and early 30s. But the clock is ticking for everybody. So I say the more you play, the more you will be prepared to meet the demands of modern cricket.”

Sunil Gavaskar, however, did not dwell too much on the poor form of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, saying it was understandable to have a bad time and noted that it was the rarest of cases. series when neither gets a run. He added:

He elaborated:

“Something like that…look, everybody has a bad patch. Sometimes a bad patch or two happens. That’s what sports is all about. But how you come back from those bad patches shows how good of a player you are. As an athlete, your character What we see in Australia will determine the future of the Test team.”
