Indian captain Rohit Sharma then he gave information about the winning strategy of the team a comprehensive victory over Bangladesh in the second Test Held in Kanpur. The win enabled India to complete a 2-0 clean sweep in the two-match series and start their home season on a dominant note.
Weather problems in Kanpur Test
The second Test in Kanpur began in difficult conditions as persistent rain shortened Day 1 and similar weather on Days 2 and 3 led to the suspension of matches. However, when play resumed on Day 4, India’s bowlers quickly took control, dismissing Bangladesh for 233 runs in their first innings before producing a strong batting display.
India declared their innings scoring 285 runs for just 35 runs to secure a lead of 52 runs. The early declaration appeared to be a tactical move to allow India to attack Bangladesh again with the ball before the close of play on Day 4, where they reduced the visitors to 26/2 at stumps.
Indian bowlers dominate on the final day
On Day 5, the Indian bowlers bowled out Bangladesh for just 146 runs, seeing themselves bowled out by 95 runs, a modest target for victory. The Indian batsmen chased down the target comfortably, finishing with seven wickets in hand to wrap up the series in style.

Rohit Sharma explains his game plan
Rohit explained that the team had to strategize carefully to ensure that the game progressed towards the result. On Day 4, their aim was to dismiss Bangladesh quickly and then see how they could take advantage with the bat. The focus was not only on scoring but also on increasing the number of passes Bangladesh could score.
Although the pitch did not help the players, the team tried hard to get a result. The batsmen were willing to take risks and the team was willing to give themselves a chance to win.
“Honestly, we had to think a lot to continue the game. Coming into the fourth day, we wanted to get them out as quickly as possible and see what we could do with the bat. It wasn’t about the runs we got, we wanted to play against them. There was not much for the bowlers on the pitch but it was a great effort by the bowlers to get a game out of this pitch. The batsmen were ready to take risks and we were ready to give ourselves a chance for the result.” Rohit said at the post match presentation.
