Rohit Sharma officially confirms his participation in Ranji Trophy after BCCI orders


India captain Rohit Sharma is ready for the Ranji Trophy match after a long gap of nine years. Given Rohit’s poor form in Test cricket, the decision to play domestic cricket was a long time coming.

The 37-year-old has been disappointing with the bat in the last few Test matches. As a result, he will look to regain his red ball form in domestic cricket. His decision came after the BCCI came up with a set of rules to make domestic cricket mandatory for selection.

Rohit Sharma will play Ranji Trophy for Mumbai

In a press conference, India captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that he has decided to lead his team from the front and will play against Jammu and Kashmir in Mumbai. The match will be played on January 23 in Mumbai.

Recently, the BCCI introduced a set of rules where centrally contracted players are required to play domestic cricket whenever available. Rohit has put his hand up and will be available for Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy game.
