India captain Rohit Sharma has finally spoken about the speculation in the Australian team. After the loss in Perth, Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood blamed his team’s batting for the team’s overall failure.
A day later, Hazlewood was ruled out of the second Test due to injury. However, former India all-rounder Sunil Gavaskar claimed that Hazlewood is fit enough to play and is not injured. Gavaskar pointed out that Hazlewood could have been punished for blaming the entire defeat on the team’s batting line-up.
This led to speculation that there were cracks in the Australian dressing room. Rohit also spoke about the importance of adapting to every situation in international cricket. He claimed that his players are mentally strong and ready for any situation.

When asked about India’s spectacular performance in Perth, the Indian captain praised his team for their magnificent effort. He was pleased with the Men in Blue’s start to the series and hoped to continue all the way.

India put in a stunning performance to defeat a strong Australian team by 295 runs in Perth. Despite going all out for a low score in the first innings, India staged an excellent comeback with both ball and bat.
Rohit Sharma on adaptation
During the press conference, Rohit confirmed that he will bat with KL Rahul in the middle order to continue to open the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. When asked about the adaptation, Rohit claimed that his team is mentally strong enough to adapt to any situation.

Rohit Sharma bats in the middle order
KL Rahul opened the batting along with Jaiswal in Perth and hit two excellent knocks. He scored 26 and 77 in both the innings and impressed everyone with his technique. Looking at his comfort at the top, the team management decided not to change his batting position.
This means that Rohit will now bat in the middle order, although his place is yet to be confirmed. The Indian skipper has not been in great form of late and will look to be among the runs here.
