Rohan Polanco (16-0, 10 costs) convincingly defeated Fabian Maidana (24-4, 18 COs) this past Sunday on the bottom of the Naoya Inoue-Ramon Cardenas card. He did this through almost tripled the number of blows that ended up by Maidana, 231 to 82, respectively. Polanco did this with precision and accuracy and landed 51.7 percent of his push (Compubox). Because as predominant as he was, he did it at less than 100 percent.
Polanco came into battle with an injury to his right hand. “I wasn’t 100 percent; I had an injured hand. I just fought with my left hand. With my left hand I dominated him, and I punished him well. Which means if I was 100 percent, he wouldn’t have had the distance, ‘Rohan says of his performance. Polanco is an Olympic 2020 and since Turning Pro, has scored 16 consecutive wins with 10 knockouts. He now seems to be ready to challenge and fight against champions the best in the Welterweight section. If it were to him, he would fight the best in the section.
When asked if he would choose his opponent, whom he would choose, without hesitation, he said: ‘Brian Norman … Brian Norman, yes, Brian Norman, the world champion.
