Rohan Polanco (16-0, 10 costs) convincingly defeated Fabian Maidana (24-4, 18 COs) this past Sunday on the bottom of the Naoya Inoue-Ramon Cardenas card. He did this through almost tripled the number of blows that ended up by Maidana, 231 to 82, respectively. Polanco did this with precision and accuracy and landed 51.7 percent of his push (Compubox). Because as predominant as he was, he did it at less than 100 percent.
Polanco came into battle with an injury to his right hand. “I wasn’t 100 percent; I had an injured hand. I just fought with my left hand. With my left hand I dominated him, and I punished him well. Which means if I was 100 percent, he wouldn’t have had the distance, ‘Rohan says of his performance. Polanco is an Olympic 2020 and since Turning Pro, has scored 16 consecutive wins with 10 knockouts. He now seems to be ready to challenge and fight against champions the best in the Welterweight section. If it were to him, he would fight the best in the section.
When asked if he would choose his opponent, whom he would choose, without hesitation, he said: ‘Brian Norman … Brian Norman, yes, Brian Norman, the world champion. This is the battle I want next. ‘ His second option would be to fight Rolly Romero, he has a desire to fight only world champions. Rohan is a talented boxer who was impressive in his young career. A fight against one of the fighter would be a step in the competition.
Brian Norman jr. Was tackled in Japan on Jin Sasaki on June 19. He won the WBO -Tuss -Tusserweight Championships against Giovani Santillan in May 2024 and was then elevated to a regular champion when Terence Crawford withdrew the title. Norman jr. Is promoted by top rank and will be the least difficult game to make because of both boxers under the same promotional company.
If the game is made in the near future, it would be a fan between two highly offensive fighters. Rolly Romero is promoted by PBC, and although they have said they are now willing to work with the top rankings, it will be more challenging in terms of matchmaking. Romero also fought in the Fatal Fury Triplehead this weekend. He was the underdog in the main event against superstar Ryan Garcia.
Romero scored a surprising Knockdown in the second round, causing Garcia offensive to be tentative for the rest of the match. Romero achieved a unanimous victory and won the WBA welterweight title. It was Rolly’s first game at Welterweight, and he looked stronger than in his previous games at Super Lightweight. After leading 3-2 in his last five games, Rolly can appear as the better game for Polanco. It would also be a match that would have great interest because of their offensive styles.
