Coach Robert Garcia says Terence Crawford coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre, made the right decision by a fighting with a fight with David Banavidez for his fighter. He mentions that it would be a bad way for Crawford (42-0, 31 COs) to end his career.
Robert recommends that Crawford fight a re -broadcast with Canelo Alvarez if it is offered to him or moved to 160 to follow the world titles in that section. He does not want to defend Crawford his undisputed supermid weight title against contenders.
The danger of facing Christian Mbilli
Garcia also says that a fight with Christian Mbilli would not be a good fight for Crawford to take because he is ‘Dangerous’ and have a high output. He suggests not fighting Mbilli.
Basically, he makes it clear that what Terence achieved last Saturday to defeat the so-called best fighter in the 168-pound division, Canelo Alvarez, wasn’t really. He is just a man who rounded off most of his titles years ago against fighters who are not as talented as the super -weight contenders on or near the top of the division.
How Canelo won his 168 pound titles:
- Callum Smith: WBA and Vacant WBC in December 2020
- Billy Joe Saunders: WBO in May 2021
- Caleb plant: IBF to become undisputed 168 pounds champion in November 2021
- William Scull: Repeat IBF Belt
Garcia backers avoid David benavidez
“I wouldn’t do that either. There is no way, ‘said coach Robert Garcia Fight Hub TVand respond to Terence Crawford coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre, who rejected a fight with David Banavidez on his behalf. ‘Crawford has only achieved one of the greatest victories in history. He doesn’t have to go out there and venture. It’s too big, too strong. ‘
It’s not just that benavidez is too big. This is his high work rate, hand speed and toughness. He could be shorter than Crawford, and he would still be too much for him. He is fearless, youg, and will continue to attack Crawford and forced him to run or fight. He is not able to fit Benavidez’s work rate at 38. So he would be forced to run, and it would not be nice to look at fans.
“We don’t want to see a champion doing so much and then end his career with a bad battle he shouldn’t take. Not a good one for Terence. Mbilli is a dangerous battle for Crawford. He throws many bumps,” Garcia said.
Mbilli’s high work rate poses threat
Mbilli would be a terrible battle for Crawford because he would walk through his shots to bury him with combinations. Lester Martinez took a lot of punishment in his 12-round against Mbilli this past Saturday night, and I believe he would have lost if he hadn’t hurled him all night. Without the step, which was essentially illegal because of how often he did, he would have been overwhelmed with bumps from Mbilli.
Crawford will have to move all night, and you can only imagine the amount of boo of the supporters.
