Mike Coppinger reports That the Eubank JR-Benn Rematch is now happening. The details are still rare. Fans would prefer the two to be running and fighting against other guys, preferably true opposition to world class, as both of their careers did.
The rematch makes no sense, because eubank jr. (35-3, 25 food) beat Benn (23-1, 14 COs) with a 12 round last April. Just to have a re -broadcast for no other reason than to make money at the public’s expense is bad for the sport.
It is a struggle for which the fans have used little, because it is a pathetic, commercially driven fight, with no real purpose, except to set the bags of the two British level fighters. It is a fight that is seen as no sports merits.
