Rinku Singh reveals his favorite captain

26-year-old Indian National Cricket Team left-hander Rinku Singh revealed his favorite captain, bowler and batter in a recent interview. He chose only one name for his favorite bowler, but when asked to choose his favorite captain and batsman, he chose more than one.

Rinku Singh was considered to be the next big thing in Indian cricket, especially in T20I cricket. Following his heroics with KKR, he got a call-up to India and repeated his IPL brilliance in the international arena as well, playing some sensational innings for the team.

However, his stock has fallen recently as he hasn’t looked his best. He didn’t have a great IPL 2024, which led the BCCI selectors to pick Shivam Dube over Rinku Singh in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

Although India won the tournament, there were calls from fans throughout the competition to include Rinku in the 15-man main squad. Also, he was not included in any of the Duleep Trophy 2024 squads for the first round.

Meanwhile, in a recent interaction on News24 Sports, Rinku Singh was asked to pick his favorite captain and he named Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He first mentioned Rohit, saying that he liked the captaincy of the Indian skipper very much. After that, he also talked about Kohli and said that he liked the aggressive style of the former Indian captain. Rinku said:

“I like Rohit bhai. I also like Virat bhai because aggression is important for a captain. So I like the captaincy of both the players.”

Also, the 26-year-old right-arm pacer said Jasprit Bumrah is his favorite bowler at the moment. It should be noted that Bumrah played a key role in India’s T20 World Cup win and he is currently on a long break.

I really enjoyed batting with Rohit bhaiya – Rinku Singh

The left-hander then followed Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Suryakumar Yadav like the most beloved batters in the world. Rinku Singh said that he loves batting with the captain of the Indian National Cricket Team because he is always very chilled.

“I really enjoyed batting with Rohit bhaiya – he is very cool and a great person, he was having fun while batting.”

But, unfortunately, Rinku has not yet had the opportunity to bat alongside Virat Kohli and the dreams that are likely to happen soon. Rinku said:

“I have never batted with Virat Kohli bhaiya. But it is my dream to bat with Virat bhaiya in a match.”

Rinku Singh’s most recent international appearance was in the away T20I series against Zimbabwe National Cricket Team and Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. He had a chance to score in six out of eight matches and did not perform well.

He recorded scores of 0, 48*, 1*, 11, 1 and 1 in six innings. However, he won a game for India with the ball against Sri Lanka as he scored his 19th and claimed two wickets to swing the momentum of the match.

In all, Rinku played 23 T20Is for the Indian National Cricket Team and scored 418 runs at an incredible average of 59.71 and a high strike rate of 174.16.
