In BMW, Fowler had another stellar performance, winning a T7. But it wasn’t enough to make the tournament. He ended up in 32nd place, only two short points.
Despite his brilliant Play off, Fowler faced criticism of something completely out of control of his. After finishing so poorly last season, Fowler did not automatically qualify for any signature event in 2025. But he took some sponsor exceptions to play in them.
Some critics claim it was unfair for Fowler to qualify for play off based on the points he accumulated on tours for which he had exceptions of sponsorship. And Fowler faced some of those online critics.
Sunday evening after BMW, Fowler posted a post on Instagram Story summarizing his season, writing: “Running home … It’s been a fun run in the last few months … We left them all there and bummer to go out a little less from Top 30. Thanks to my team and all my fans … returning !!!”
It seems that Fowler got a lot of hatred for his first story, so shortly thereafter, he posted another story, this time with pictures of profane comments sent.
He also added a message that again fired at his critics hiding behind the “little fake account”.
“Cliff, or whoever you are, you know where to find me and I would like to see you face to face. You are the one behind your little fake account … I’m sure your important others are so excited how you did in life … Enjoy your Sunday evening.”
While Fowler will not play for the Tour’s $ 40 million championship bag and a blow to the FedEx Cup title, he is not leaving 2025 with empty hands. Ending within 50 leaders in FedEx Cup ranking, Fowler has already qualified to All signature events in 2026no exception of the necessary sponsor.
