French veteran Richard Gasquet He is enjoying his latest bow at his home Grand Slam and says he has no regret for calling time in his prominent career.
Gasquet, 38, completed his career with a second round loss to world no. 1 Jannik sinful 63 60 64 Before an appreciation and worshiper of Paris.
After the match, Gasquet enjoyed a special ceremony from the French Tennis Federation that included remarks from his friends and rivals in the tournament including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Gilles Simon, Non-Wilfried Tsonga And more.

At his press conference, Gasquet said he still cannot believe his pro -tennis career is over, but he is looking forward to the next chapter.
“It’s a bit strange that it’s over. I won’t be able to declare the opposite. It is strange to end up here because I really didn’t get it all at all. But I’m happy, happy to finish here in thirty -nine years old.

“I couldn’t have dreamed of a better end because, you know, you never know what can happen in your latest tour,” Gasquet said. “It’s not always easy everywhere, every day. So to end up today in the Chatrier against the number one in the world, it’s a great end to me.
“So I’m very happy with what I’ve been able to do for this tournament. It is a little strange, because tomorrow there is no stress. There is no healing. There is no training. There is no tennis for the lawn.
Nadal, who also enjoyed his farewell ceremony in Paris a few days ago, posted a heartfelt message on social media for his friend who has known him since competing as young teenagers over 20 years ago.

“Yes. I like to play. Just play for pleasure, that’s why I know I’m going to play because I like it. I’ve always enjoyed it,” Gasquet said. “But to do it without stress, without training, only for pleasure will be fantastic. I will continue to do it.
“I like the game. I like to play, and that’s something I’ve always loved.”
