Top Promotor Bob Arum says Gervonta Davis lost his battle against Lamont Roach on March 1, and he has to start taking the sport ‘Serious.’ Arum feels that tank (30-0-1, 28 coes) box treated as if it’s a ‘media-kind thing’ and he “Looks ordinary.”
Tank may seem ordinary for Arum, but he is still the big money man at 135, and the one he hopes to counteract his fighters.
Bob says he has a good look at Tank Davis’s battles, because he saw him as a potential opponent for some of his fighters he promotes on the top rank. He probably talks about Keyshawn Davis, Raymond Muratalla and Abdullah Mason. These are the three guys who have Arum at 135 who are active. Vasily Lomachenko is injured, and Arum does not know if he will resume his career.
Arum is questioning whether Tank can win the Rematch with Roach because he doesn’t know if he can change. He does not come out immediately and does not say it, but Tank has strived the same. His power bowled out in fighting against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, Ryan Garcia and Mario Barrios.
Davis was held to a controversial 12 -round draw against Roach, and he is fortunate that referee Steve Willis did not score it as a Knockdown in the ninth round when the tank had a knee. The referee made that slip slipped and said nothing that Davis called his own timeout and walked back to his corner to wipe the fat out of his eyes.
“Take it seriously”
“I thought Roach won the battle. It was a close battle,” Bob Arum said Sean Zittel About the Gervonta Davis against Lamont Roach Clash earlier this month on March 1. “I think Davis should start taking box seriously. It’s not just a kind of media. He looks kind of ordinary. I don’t know if he is able to change, ‘Arum said when asked if Tank Davis would win the Rematch with Roach.
“I wanted to look at him well because he was named as a possible opponent for fighters I promote,” Arum said about Gervonta.
Tank may be on his way to retirement shortly after collecting two or three pay days. The re -broadcast with Roach is almost certain, but then there is a possible fight against Jake Paul. This would bring in a fortune for tank. A rematch with Ryan Garcia is probably also before he retires.
Gervonta is not going to fight against Keyshawn Davis. Hopefully, Arum doesn’t think the fight is happening, because there’s no chance of it. Keyshawn does not have the fanbase for tank to be interested in fighting him.
