Gervonta’s tank Davis has to ask himself if he wants to run it back with Lamont Roach after the problems he had in their 12-round majority on March 1 in Brooklyn, New York. The Nysac chose not to reverse the results of the fight, and to keep it a draw, despite the mess the referee made in the ninth round.
It still does not change the fact that the boxing world overwhelmingly saw that Tank Davis (30-0-1, 28 COs) lost that battle. There is a spiritual star next to Gerrvonta’s unbeaten record in the minds of fans who will remain. Simply put, he beat Roach. Tank took a knee in the ninth round and should have lost that point. Everyone saw it.
Why again?
- High PPV numbers: Fans will now be very interested in a re -broadcast after the controversy of their last struggle.
- Quiet the doubters: Tank needs a win to show his critics that his previous poor performance was just a wave. He must also do this for himself, because a fight as it will eat away at his confidence and torment him for the rest of his career.
- Marketing is sore: If he continues from this battle without proving himself, Gervonta’s popularity will harm, and he can make less money.
It is extremely important that Tank Davis return to the ring this year, rather than waiting for the Rematch with Roach until 2026. He must strike while the iron is still warm and the supporters are interested in the fight. If Gevonta waits until next year, fans will forget, and not so many PPV purchases will be generated. Tank fought only once in 2024, but he has to fight at least twice this year.
