Welcome back to the end of Monday, where I have watched Golf and feeling the subliminal incentive to go to the tractor shopping. For the news
Golf things I like
A winner of submission.
What is your favorite Brian Campbell Submissive fun fact? That he is the shortest Hitter in PGA Tour? That he has the lowest ball speed? That, by entering Sunday, he had Only a top-30 conclusion In tour this season – and was a win? That he played only three events in 2022 and fell out of the world’s best 1,500, part of a seven -year trip again to the high level of play?
My favorite fact of Brian Campbell Underdog is that the last round of this week John Deere Classic Ra exactly a decade – in day -After his first PGA Tour event, also John Deere, which he played in excluding a sponsor while still students at the near Illinois University. It happened a lot in those 10 years, which saw Campbell climbing to the PGA Tour, but went down to the Korn Ferry tour and stay there for most of that decade, good enough to stay, but not to advance, stuck in professional oblivion. Until this season, ie. Now, Campbell has two PGA Tour wins in just a few months. In a world where talents reached as Tommy Fleetwood, Cameron Young AND Denny McCarthy They are still following their first tournament title, this is an extraordinary achievement.
Two Top-30’s this season-and two wins on Play off? This is golf items I like.
Brian Campbell wins John Deere Classic
Winner
Who won the week?
Brian Campbell make John Deere Classic over Emiliano Grillo In the first hole of the play off.
“It is easier to say than it was, but what worked for me a lot was believing a lot of things I did when I was a kid,” Campbell said about his journey. “Go back to enjoy the game and loving the game for what it is and just have fun with it.”
Lottie Woad, the top rank amateur on the women’s side, make KPMG women’s Irish opens on the six -hit European lady tour, fleeing a prosy field.
Daniel Brown Won the BMW International Open in Munich, Germany, his second career victory in the county; He is now Up to 15 in the race for Dubai.
Scott Vincent won the Morocco of the international series; It was his first victory in favor since 2022. He now runs the order of the Asian Tour merit and is the second in the ranking of international series; The latter would win a place in Liv Golf for 2026.
Non -winner
But agonizing close to
Emiliano Grillo came the closest to descend Campbell; His hopes were moved from a poor shot in the play off and a sharp wedge holding 180 yards, posting green air.
David Lipsky came the best best; He made an excellent eagle at no. 17 to connect the lead before losing the right path to No. 18 on the road to Bogey. He finished T3 along with Kevin Roy, who Zogu no. 18 to make an important jump in the FedEx Cup (No. 88 in No. 71).
Things gathered behind them; Six players ended T5 including Max Homa, which was improved by no. 122 at No 98 in FedEx Cup. Nick dunlap Ended up a shot further in T11 after nearly five months without 40 balls. Rickie Fowler (T18) improved to no. 68 in the FedEx Cup as he hovering on the edge of the Play off figure. He finished together Davis Thompson, Whose last round 72 sent him from the superiority to T18.
Short
5 short pieces of golf news.
1 Collin Morikawa THERE recorded assistance of the caddy tested by the battle Billy foster After a brief attack with Joe Greiner came to the end last week. Foster recently worked Matt Fitzpatrick; Both joined for an open US win in 2022. Foster will continue for Morikawa at the Scottish Open and Open Championship. After that? We’ll see.
2 Jordan Spieth will turn into action in the open and fully healthy championship after a WD mid -round in the traveler championship, which he be explained Kay Adams It was “just a strange thing of the neck spasm.” Spieth and his wife Annie are waiting for their third child in the coming days; He will plan to go to Portrad after that.
3 Gary Woodland will be rounded KEEGAN BRADLEY’S Ryder Cup staff as assistant captain, joining Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson AND Brand cords As the US team moves on to a new generation of leadership.
4. Joe Hooks lost abbreviation in his debut at PGA Tour in Detroit last week – but Michael Bamberger’s ACCOUNT of his week, and his story is worth your time.
5. The PGA Tour announced its reconstructed Play Off payment system, distributing a total of $ 100 million in three installments instead of only one: after the regular season ($ 20 million), the BMW Championship ($ 22,925) and the tour champion ($ 40 in Top 30, plus $ 17.08 million in the division of players ranked 31-150).
Once they eliminate the stacked shocks of the end of the handicap from the final, this felt possible-otherwise the tour championship would be just a week exchange for $ 25 million-but we would see how they play in the coming weeks, while Pro Vie for high conclusions to insert them into the best pay for each. Also, remember the Comcast Top 10 business? This is still one thing, eating $ 40 million at the end of the season.
This is a long way to say that, assuming Scottie Scheffler Waste No.1 in the ranking of FedEx Cup, he will receive $ 18 million for his problems. And then play for a whole bunch more.
Ryder Cup Watch
Campbell’s time?!
Maybe not. For the second week in a row, not even 12 balls saw any movement; Even as a twice winner this season Campbell is up to no. 28. Lucas Glover It made an interesting action from No. 20 to No. 16, but there was mainly not much movement on the American side.
On the European side, Jordan Smith raised his position at no. 13 after a racing completion in Munich; While the winner of the Brown tour was dropped 17 points in no. 22. Here we stand:

A swinging thought
By Matt Kuchar.
Asked a reporter Matt Kuchar To get them through what is like being competitive when he is twice the age of some of his competition. His response:
“I don’t know how to get you through him except to know you will get there. You’ll go there. Listen, I still feel like a kid. I’m still excited to come on those tours.
“One of the unique things about golf game is every week we all start at the same time, we all have a chance to do something great.
“I think if you happen to be a professional baseball player and your team starts 10-40 it would be hard to continue, but golf gives you hoping every week to appear and have a chance to do something great.
“So I appear here excited. I appear hoping to do something great this week.”
A big question
What is the missing golf wine?
I couldn’t be the most removed from the next Scottish-Portrush 1-2 punch work. And as a sicko I will see a lot of 3 million and Wyndham, just as I saw a lot of rockets and John Deere. But feels like SOMETHING It is missing from this July-August extension to the PGA Tour, where we have only a big one, none of the season signature events and a continuous play-off structure in limbo. So what is missing?
One answer would be the “PGA Championship” because there are many people who will welcome its return in August. But let’s assume it’s stuck in May – I think the answer is “Play off electricity places”. I would prefer to see East Lake and TPC Southwind earlier in season and save August for a mixture of soul -inducing courses. I am originally from Massachusetts and currently live in Seattle, so I’m biased, but a dose of northern golf in the tournament -hungry areas looks like a good place to start. The BMW championship in Agoikago was an extraordinary scene two years ago. We can do this, little by little.
One thing to see
Golf szn link.
There is no more movement, just put it for a few minutes of Scottish goodness, through the DP World Tournament:
News by Seattle
On Monday finish the headquarters.
Some people here say that the Seattle Summer does not start until July 4. In justice, I have not generally seen it true – this can be one of the many things that Seattleites say so that no one else moves here – but good grief do we have a good weather plate in the tap. I’m in a cafe or a golf course or just to weave around and feel alive. Wishing you some the same thing.
;)
