Rbr interviews. Seven questions for new USATF content and new communication content and connection, Jay own
It was announced only two weeks ago (July 14) that Jay’s release would be a new USATF content and new communication officer. The Jay Valley is a long-term media specialist, at the Atlanta Way Club, the press connection with the Olympic Games and World Championships and the main marathons. Jay Sahik was on his new position on Monday, July 28. We were quite fortunate that Jayney responded to a quick response.
The significance of this new combined position should not be undervalued. Jay Jay Holler’s responsibility is to give usatf Federation a more positive position in the media where, sometimes, has suffered. For the past few years, USATF has viewed and criticized financial challenges and loss of major staff, plus a lack of transparency.
Jay’s sand will have to look at these situations and provide communication to the media, such as the builder of the new content, but also to the long-term media, which have supported sports less during less interest. More important media outlets, long form, printed, digital and photography have been disappointed with the teams of past commissions, which do not recognize traditional media organizations and longevity of sports stories for the communication of the old school and new school media techniques. Jay Jay Holler performs a difficult job not only to these situations, but with permanent knowledge that he represents usatf and sometimes for political but also legal reasons, then transparency is not possible.
Jay’s sand will fully have his hands, but very fascinating observers believe that Mr. Bears is a challenge.
Please enjoy the seven questions I have answered Jay. We look forward to working with Mr. Carrier in his new position.
Runblogru, # 1: How have you been involved in sports media?
Jay Slide. I went to school for broadcasting journalism, where I ran XC and follow and manufactured a hockey cover. After school, I worked for more than a decade in local television news across the country. When I worked at New York WABC, I was responsible for most production around the New York Marathon. I am also volunteered in the media operations in NYC Grand Prix. It was there that I discovered what kind of work I feel really called. Through that voluntary work, I met Kena, rich in the Atlanta Way club, and he brought me to market and communications there. While there, he was quite kind to allow me to be free in large marathons, and eventually the Olympics. For several major events in the world, the media, as well as PR, was an incredible experience, and I am quite lucky, during these years of volunteering in New York.
Runblogru, # 2: Do you have a favorite experience and event from Atlanta Track Club?
Jay Slide. I loved my time at Atlanta Way Club. I have two very different answers to this question. The first is the tests of the US Olympic team, the marathon. We had so much investing in that event. From marketing and PRInt, I didn’t know what I was waiting for. Our team did not leave any stone, which stimulated the event and participating athletes. I will never forget to get out of the Marietta Street before the race and seeing the people of the people who went out to be happy. It was a real “wow” moment. Of course, a few days later, the world has closed 19 by Soviet. I am so grateful to come under the wire.
The second is all coming and field. These are the basis of the Atlanta Track Club’s mission. Meetings are six free, a series of weekly events that are really open to everyone. All ages and abilities will show compete, have fun and maybe learn new discipline. There is no more pure example of the trace and field.
Runblogru, # 3. You excess Excess Pressers all over the world have a favorite marathon.
Jay Slide. Look for the fifth. I love a big road race than anything else. The atmosphere and forecast are simply incomparable. Boston, New York, Chicago, Berlin and, of course, Olympic tests have their own unique vibrations, and I am so excited for everyone.

Runblogru, # 4. What was the hardest part of the management indicators in the worlds and the Olympics?
Jay Slide. At night, when there are many gold medals competitions, it can be pure chaos, despite the best plan. For beginners, as a press conference moderator, you often unable to see all events. Thus, in an event, a real challenge can be a real challenge for medalists. Then, there is unpredictability when athletes become available. One medalist can move very quickly through mixed zone and postoperative control, and the other may take hours. You can’t hold press conferences until all three medalists are in the room. Often times, the schedule will come out of the window, and we just had to do the conferences when all three medalists arrived in the room. As of the moment, it was many times that it was for journalists in the room and the Olympic streaming team, which included all the translators.
Runblogru, # 5. What is the preparation time for your marathon for the press?
Jay Slide. I’m starting to think about the first press conference, I get the list of athletes on the start list. It is obvious that it changes throughout, so I try to invest a lot up to 7-10 days ago. But the questions I’m going to ask, how do I try and get out of personality? These are things when I think of myself. For the post-election event, you only need to be prepared so much. The people and the conversation depend on those last moments of the event. It prepares to be in line with what is happening in the race, then the minutes between the finish line and the media center can be in one or two issues, can be in everyone’s mind. My goal is to get the obvious things out of the way that journalists can ask unique questions.
Runblogru, # 6. Now you are now content and media director, how do you see your work?
Jay Slide. It’s a big question. My title is the main content and communication responsible. If I had to summarize, I see my role as the history and mission of the US track and the field of the field reaching as much as possible on different platforms and their information. We have a huge opportunity to travel to gold to make new fans and athletes get excited about tracks and fields. Having collaborative relations with journalists, our TV companies, of course, athletes.
Runblogru, # 7. You have found a way to have fun in social media and has a personal life. What about the young athletes about controling their stories about social media?
Jay Slide. Just be authentic. In any case, I don’t have an impact on the form or shape, so my personal social media is not very interesting. It’s just my kids and my adventures. But I think social media is a great way to follow your personality and connect with new fans.
