Rohit Sharma fails with bat at MCG, Ravichandran Ashwin arrives with cryptic message
Rohit Sharma stitched an opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal for 16 overs and hardly put a foot wrong. But a lapse in concentration saw him lose his wicket as he tried to cross the line. But it was not to be, as Pat Cummins again had his number with the ball.
During the match, Ravichandran Ashwin came up with a cryptic post which fans thought was a dig against the leader. On Twitter, he said: “Good leaders emerge when they are determined for a scrap.”

Australia beat India by 184 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series
Coming to the match, Australia scored a sensational victory in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. They beat India by 184 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Jasprit Bumrah claimed another wicket in the series as Australia were all out for 234 after setting a target of 340, as Nathan Lyon (41) and Scott Boland (15*) did not allow them to add much to their overnight 330.
India got off to a decent start with the bat as Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal (84) chased down the target before the captain bounced back for nine runs. After that, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli also fell early as India were bowled out for 33.
It was then that Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant (30) brought India back into the game and went error-free throughout the second session. The duo of Rishabh-Jaiswal added 88 runs and it looked like the game would end in a draw. However, the wicketkeeper’s wicket led to India’s collapse as Australia continued to pick wickets regularly.
Jaiswal and Washington Sundar (5*) worked hard but could not save the game as Australia bowled India out for 155 to win the game by 184 runs.
