“Good leaders emerge when they decide on a scrap” Ashwin wrote in X. The post went viral on social media and Indian fans speculated that Ashwin’s post was a jibe like Captain Rohit’s in the series. This sharing caused great interest in social media.
Ashwin’s statement on the alleged jibe
Amid widespread speculation and supposed rift between Ashwin and Rohit, the former Indian off-spinner clarified in a separate post and tried to put an end to rumours. He explained that the previous post was a reference Yashasvi JaiswalA brave stand against the Australian attack on the final day of the Boxing Day Test. However, several Indian fans still believe that Ashwin had hit the Indian captain earlier and is now backtracking amid widespread backlash.
Now a days, the intended meaning can be taken out of context.

India came out on top against a determined Australia at the MCG
Day 5 of the Boxing Day Test match did not end well for the Indian fans. After the early concession of the last Australian wicket, India needed only 340 runs to win the match. In reply, the second Indian innings didn’t get off to the desired start after captain Rohit KL Rahulearly dismissal. Virat Kohli tried to put up some resistance but the former Indian captain’s loose shot put an end to his short-lived innings. Young Jaiswal was the only batsman who could withstand the Australian onslaught amid a regular fall of wickets at the other end. The last flicker of hope for India ended as Jaiswal had to return to the pavilion after a controversial decision by the third umpire. Australia bowled out the visitors by 184 runs and now take a 2-1 lead in the 5-match Test series.
