Feel for Shreyas Iyer, there was a time when he was in serious contention to lead the Indian team. Then came injuries and politics, then suddenly everyone forgot what they had achieved, taking Delhi Capitals to their first IPL final, a trophy with KKR and even… pic.twitter.com/xg3nstc4tt

Prima facie, it seems like a regular everyday seizure, but the damage now seems very serious. Shreyas Iyer is in ICU in Sydney. I hope he recovers soon and the injury does not worsen.

BCCI medical support and recovery rimeline, is not clear
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Regarding his early return, he prioritized his health over his early return, stating that he would remain in Sydney until the doctors were fully fit to travel. Iyer is not out of danger, he will continue to rest under observation for a few more days. Doctors say his spleen injury will heal with time and rest, but the recovery period could be beyond two weeks.
Iyer’s family, currently in Mumbai, is set to join him in Australia once the visa is cleared. Until then, a few close friends are keeping him in the hospital. BTSI provided constant medical and logistical support, which highlighted the seriousness with which they were handling the situation.
The next likely task for India is the upcoming one Three match Odi series against South Africa Starting November 30. However, voters are unlikely to rush him back. Given his crucial role as vice-captain and middle-order anchor in the ODI Set-up, the team management wants him to make a full recovery before resuming competitive cricket.
