Paris -The Sunday, Roland Garros held a heartfelt ceremony to honor Rafael Nadal, a player whose name has become synonymous with France Open and Clay-Court. The event in court Philippe-Chatrier was not just a tribute-there was a moment for all those who followed Nadal’s extraordinary journey to reflect at the end of an era.
Organized by Nadal’s tall manager, Carlos Costa along with tournaments, the ceremony brought together the family, coaches and even some of Nadal’s harshest rivals. Speaking in Spanish, French and English, Rafa thanked those who stood by him through his extraordinary career and shared some words that showed how much place and this tour – for him.
One of the most touching parts was Nadal’s tribute to his uncle and former coach, Tony Nadal, whose guidance was a cornerstone of his play and character. A new plaque was discovered in court, joining the statue already standing as a sustainable symbol of Nadal’s heritage in Roland Garros.
