Emma Radanu’s US Open Run hit a road barrier at Louis Armstrong Sot Stadium.
In a bump of the great champions of Slam, Elena Rybakina Raducanu 6-1, 6-2 in 62 minutes to load in the fourth round of US Open for the first time.
Raducanu then clarified her partnership with the new coach Francisco ROIGwho trained Rafa Nadal for several years.
The 22-year-old Britain said she is committed to working with ROIG until at least at the end of the 2025 season.
Despite today’s loss, Raducanu said their three-week partnership has been “pretty successful” and she is looking forward to returning to ROIG.
“Yes, for now we are working by the end of the year. I look forward to returning to work really,” Raducanu said. “It’s been just three weeks, but I think it’s been a three -week very successful in a sense we’ve made good improvements.
“I think there are some parts of my game which have been done better for sure. Today, you know, my weaknesses were stressed, but I think they have only been three weeks, and he really can’t work wonders, you know. So I know we are doing good work, and I just look forward to continuing.”

The 57-year-old Spaniard was a long-term training member of the Nadal team, later Trainoi Matteo Berrettini and has experience in the WTA tour. ROIG, who reached a high degree in careers of No0 60 at ATP Tour, also trained the 2017 US Open Champion Stephen Sloane.
ROIG succeeded Mark Petcheywho had trained Raducanu on an informal basis since Miami Open. Tenis Channel analyst Petchey had agreed to work with Raducanu until the end of the grass court season, but could not commit to training full time due to his TV comments.
Working with Petchey, who previously trained Andy Murray, Raducanu recorded some of her best results in years.
In her short stay with ROIG, Raducanu has worked the wide service on the side of Deuce effectively to place her first strike and tried to spread the court with her shooting. Moreover, Roig has tried to follow the Petchey model to ensure that Raducanu has fun with the process. Raducanu has shared shots on her social media playing football and Golf with Coach Roig.
The challenge for the US Open Championship in 2021 is working wisely in the practice court without excessive training and endangering damage.
“I think I want to train with me, as, many, and I practice many hours, but I think at the same time you can wear a lot of ear in my body,” Raducanu said. “So I think I’m doing a good job now. Very strong and appropriate for the most part. I’m not getting hurt.
“But this is where I have to rebuild, and I need the people around me to pull me back and say, we have done enough. That’s how I manage my load because I always want to do more and practice more, play and compete and compete more.”
