Another title in Madrid has once again made experts ask if this is the year that Sabalenka It can submit its success in the Spanish capital at a triumph in Paris.
Sabalenka, who has been 37-8 in Clay since the beginning of 2023, has never won a title in a place other than Caja Majrica in Madrid, of course hoping that 2025 is the year.
“Hope it will be different,” she said laughing after defeating Coco Guff for the title on Saturday.
Sabalenka, whose best performance in Roland-Garros is a semifinal in 2023, says that with each year she has more confidence in her potential on the surface.
“Honestly, I just have more confidence in my game in Argila Court,” she said. “I had really fierce battles in the past in the final stages of the tournament. I was there in Semis and I was really close to doing it in the finals. I will just go there and compete and fight. I am physically and mentally ready to work for every point as I have to work, and I really hope this year will be different.”

Regardless of what happens in Rome and Paris, Sabalenka will hold its cavernous lead over the ranking. It currently has 11,118 points in the live ranking, which is nearly 4,000 points ahead of IgA Swiatek.
Sabalenka is the third woman in history, along with Serena Williams and IgA Swiatek to ever accumulate over 11,000 points of order.

“Honestly, it’s so crazy to me, and I’ve been working all my life to achieve this goal, and be at the top of the ranking, that means a lot,” she said. “It gives me this. I don’t know. I’m a kind. As I feel like my life wasn’t like a waste of time.”
Far from it. Sabalenka is a big three -time champion that seems destined to double that number at one point of her career.
She says she is always looking for ways to improve her game, and her dedication to craft is one of the biggest reasons why she has run the table above WTA all year round.

“Generally being an athlete is always working for yourself, always getting better, always leaving, watching your game and seeing what you have to improve and get there in the court of practice and work for it,” she said.
She says the biggest key to her success is this ruthless tracking of evolution in her game.
“I’ve really worked hard and improving my game and bringing variety to my game, I think it’s the biggest key to most matches now,” she said on Saturday. “I am very happy that we were able to improve my game in everything.”
It does not need to encourage those improvements, starting with the bedding.
“Movement,” she says. “And my touch game is much better now, I trust my game with a lot more touch now. I think it’s always working for yourself, and always looking for something to improve and get better.”
