Former midfielder David Norris believes that in order for Joe Gelhardt to get his career back on track, he needs to leave Leeds United as soon as possible.
This season, Gelhardt has played eight minutes of championship football; his only start came in the crushing Carabao Cup defeat of Middlesbrough in August.
The 22-year-old sits behind Mateo Joseph, Joel Piroe and Patrick Bamford in the pecking order.
“I think the time is right for Gelhardt to move on as soon as he can.
“It’s been a couple of years of inconsistent football for him now, and you get the feeling that maybe he’s had enough and he’s not invested anymore.
“I feel for him as he’s done well in parts of the Premier League but he’s at the age now where you want to play consistently and he won’t get enough game time at Leeds.”
