West Ham had struggled in attack this season, but for a pull, there is a suggestion that this could be self-inflicted by the main coach Graham Potter, who made a rather daring call during the dead 1-1 Saturday at home in Southampton already relegated.
In recent years, West Ham has struggled to recruit a prolific striker. Niclas Fullkrug was signed from Borussia Dortmund last summer, but has been significantly supplied since its arrival, and this has often led to Jarrod Bowen and Mohamed Kudus playing more central.
Evan Ferguson was signed on a brighton loan in January as a possible solution to the problem, but it is clear that Potter is not considered by Potter.

According to West ham areaSky Sports Pundit, Michael Dawson, bewildered by Potter’s decision not to take Ferguson to Fullkurg, who was replaced by midfielder Tomas Soucek.
“Niclas Fulkrug has come out, and you would believe that Evan Ferguson would occur, just as a direct exchange. No. Tomas Soucek has arrived. And I think this says everything about Evan Ferguson in West Ham.”
It has been a difficult season for Ferguson. He struggled to enter the Brighton team during the first half of the campaign, and this prompted the move to West Ham during the winter. But that has turned out to be so unsuccessful.
Ferguson will surely return to Brighton at the end of the season, at which point it will be interesting to see what happens to him: could be Leeds United, who have been linked to sign. He had been considered one of the main perspectives on the front of the Premier League as recently as the 2023-24 campaign, but this title is not certainly what can be contained right now, but time is by his side.
