PRRO CIRCUIT CONTINUES SUNDAY CREDIT UNION CHERRY LOSSOM 10 MILE.

(09-Apr.) – The third stop 2025/2026 Professional Road Racing Organization (PRRO) circuitis Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 miwill take place on Sunday in Washington, D.C., with a prize purse of $80,600, including $42,600 dedicated to homegrown athletes competing in the event. USATF 10 Mile Championship Division. This will be the fourth year in a row that Cherry Blossom has hosted the National 10 Mile Championships, and at least one national record has been set in each of the previous three games, including Taylor Rowe’s impressive 49:53 in the women’s division last year, which was also a world best.
“Having set the American record three years in a row, as well as the women’s world best last year, the elite field continues to impress year after year,” said longtime event director Phil Stewart, who will retire after this year’s race. “We are excited to once again host the USATF 10 Mile Championships, which sets the stage for another exciting and fast weekend.”
Cherry Blossom is unique among US road racing championships. All other championships only host US fields, but Cherry Blossom, as part of the PRRO Circuit, also hosts international athletes, raising the level of competition. Additionally, to ensure the fairest competition, the elite women enjoy an earlier start than the men.
Leading the women’s field are America’s top two distance runners, Gelatin wine (Nike) and: Emma Grace Hurley (Asics). Both are national record holders. Kelati, 29, holds the national half-marathon record of 1:06:04, set in Barcelona in February. He has a 10-mile best of 50:05, a mark he set on the road 2025 Aramco Houston Half-Marathon. Hurley, 28, is the national 8-K record holder (24:29), a mark she set last month in Chicago. He is the best CUCB returner this year. she ran a personal best of 51:04 last year.

“I can’t wait to get back to one of my favorite courses for another 10 miles of fun.” Hurley wrote on his Instagram page: “The field looks a little bit tighter than I expected and I’m so excited.”
Double Olympian Carissa Schweitzer (Nike) He is also in the field and will make his debut at 10 miles. His 10,000m personal best of 30:18.05 makes him the fourth fastest American of all time. The reigning marathon champion will also look for leading positions Molly Bourne (Puma)2023 National Cross Country Champion Edna Kurgat (US Army), and runner-up at the 2025 National Cross Country Championships Katie Izzo (adidas).

The men’s field looks wide open this year as last year’s top two players, Charles Hicks (Nike) and: Alex Mayer (Puma)both are running the Boston Marathon instead. Above the input file Aidan Reid (Roots Running), who ran a personal best of 45:58 in last year’s race. Frank Lara (other) has a career best of 46:59, and Graydon Morris (Puma) ran 1:01:09 for the half marathon. Olympic marathoner Jared Ward (Saucony) is also in the field, and the only international participant in the race is Kenyan. Kirami Yego, former Arkansas Razorback who finished tenth in the 10,000m at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
The overall race winners, regardless of nationality, will receive $6,000 in prize money. American athletes competing at the national championships compete for a $10,000 first-place championship prize, meaning the American who is also the overall winner will take home $16,000. In addition, the race offers time bonuses of $5,000, $5,000 and $3,000 for world, American and event records, respectively. These bonuses are cumulative.
Race organizers expect about 19,000 finishers (last year there were 19,601 plus another 7,197 in the companion 5-K, which is held on Saturday), and they also plan to host the 2027 race. USATF 10 Mile Championships.

The PRRO Circuit, the nation’s premier non-marathon road racing series, is organized and promoted by the Professional Road Running Organization (PRRO), an alliance of race directors.
