Catterall vs. Prograis will headline this Saturday, October 26, at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England. The event will be shown live on DAZN.
Catterall’s manager says Prograis “flattened him”.
The recording was from before Sam became Catterall’s manager, but he still thinks former two-time light welterweight champion Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) has Jack’s number. It must hurt. Catterall now knows that Sam has no faith in him, or at least not until he became his manager.
When the New Orleans, Prograis from Louisiana is firing on all cylinders, he’s on a talent level different from Catterall, a basic Shakur Stevenson knockoff fighter. Catterall is the UK’s version of Shakur, albeit with slower reflexes and more prone to holding on.
#2 WBC, #2 WBO, #3 IBF, and #5 WBA Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) hopes to use the 35-year-old Prograis as a springboard to a world title next against IBF champion Liam Paro get
Catterall believes he’s going to school Prograis like Devin Haney did last year on December 9 in their headline show at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
King Progress: “Sam Jones, his manager, said a long time ago that I’d beat Jack’s a**, and now I’ve got proof if you want to hear it. He said: Flatten him.
Sam Jones: “I never said that. Listen, you’ve been hit in the head too many times by Devin Haney, my friend.”
Prograis: “Look at this. Listen everyone, be quiet.”
Sam: “I like Jack, by the way. I know him very well, but I think you are flattening him. You’re a different guy than Josh Taylor.”
Eddie Hearn: “We just need to hear it one more time.”
Sam: “Regis, I have messages from you, so think very carefully before you play it. This is before I knew Jack. I never met Jack before.”
Prograis: “You never met Jack?”
If the Prograis of two years ago turns up on Saturday, Catterall will be in a lot of trouble. The power, aggression and talent of the old version of Prograis is leagues above Catterall. There is no comparison. When Prorais was at his best between 2016 and 2022, he was a much better fighter than Catterall.
