ProBox Undercard Report: Michael Angeletti, Ivan Dychko Post wins to stay undefeated

Michael Angeletti won an awkward style match to maintain his perfect record.

The undefeated bantamweight prospect enjoyed a strong second-half surge en route to a unanimous decision over Geraldo Valdez. The scores were 97-93, 98-92 and 98-92 for Angeletti in their ProBox TV co-feature Wednesday night from ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida.

Valdez was considered a potential spoiler, though he only managed to slow the action to a crawl. Angeletti (12-0, 7 KOs)—who hails from the greater Houston area—needed a few rounds to get his offense unstuck. He finally found his rhythm on the back end of their ten-round contest. Valdez (16-2, 11 KOs) was visibly hurt in the later rounds, but managed to hear the final bell.

Angeletti has been inactive for much of 2024 – unfortunately not an uncommon theme for Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) fighters of late. However, the 28-year-old now has two wins in less than seven weeks. Both came from outside the PBC universe.

Two-time Olympic bronze medalist Ivan Dychko (14-0, 13 KOs) scored two knockouts in a second-round knockout of Craig Lewis. The one-way battle saw Lewis fall midway through round two and warn that he had lost his mouthpiece twice. Referee Gene Del Bianco seemed all too eager to end the fight. He jumped in as soon as Lewis touched the canvas for the second takedown. The official time was 2:05 of round two. Dychko scored his first win since last June.

Dominic Valle (10-0, 7 KOs) outlasted Venezuela’s Kevin Piedrahita in an eight-round unanimous decision. The scores were 79-73, 79-73 and 78-74 for Valle, who was stunned twice in the seventh round and bloodied his nose late in the fight.
