Premier League defender sued the former agent for financial dispute

Daniel Munoz, by Crystal Palace, is entangled in legal problems, as his former agent, Ruben Caicedo, has filed a lawsuit against him and the agent Juan Pablo Angel for an unpaid commission related to Munoz’s move to the Premier League.

Munoz, who joined Crystal Palace, of the Belgian Genk, in January 2024, for a quota of 8 million euros, is now facing a legal claim that requires almost one million pounds ($ 1.2 million plus interests).

The reports of Colombia indicate that Caicedo had been in legal action for months, saying that the payment of the agreement was owed.

According to SignCaicedo stated that he contacted the player in early January 2023 while the player was still in Genk. The agent claims that Munoz confirmed that he had no offers at the time, revealed a launch clause of 5 million euros and stated his desire to move to Crystal Palace.

Caicedo claims that he played a crucial role in facilitating the move, but later became out when Juan Pablo Angel assumed negotiations.

The agent claims that once the transfer was completed, he hoped to receive his agreed quota from the commission. However, he claims that Angel took part in the process and, therefore, the payment never materialized.

Crystal Palace’s sports director Dougie Freedman informed Caicedo that the commission’s funds had already been transferred to the accounts provided by the player and his new agent Angel. Without any resolution, Caicedo has taken legal action.
