Brian Norman Sr. predicts that his son, WBO welterweight champion Norman’s power, will make Devin Haney “uncomfortable,” causing his pre-existing self-doubt to flare up on November 22nd.
Norman Sr. was amused to hear what Haney’s sparring partner Troy Isley had to say about how Devin would create distance between them, use his superior technical skills to neutralize Norman’s “physicality.”
No running in Riyadh
Brian Sr. points out that Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) has a longer reach than Haney (32-0, 16 KOs), and is excellent at cutting off the ring on his opponents if they try to run.
Haney vs. Norman Jr. fight on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde on November 22 at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event will be broadcast on DAZN PPV for $59.99 for US fans.
“He certainly doesn’t have the power of Brian Norman. We know that,” Brian Norman Sr. said MillCity Boxing about Devin Haney not having the power that Norman Jr. “They said they were worried about the physicality. None of them have the power of Brian Norman. That’s the biggest factor for me,” Brian Sr. said. about Haney and his sparring partner, Troy Isley, who lacks the power of Norman Jr.
Devin is not in the same league as Norman Jr., power wise. Even though Norman’s last opponent, Jin Sasaki, is a bigger puncher than Haney. He is nowhere near him in that department. He has only one hope to save Brian Jr. to conquer, and that is by striking and moving all night long on November 22nd.
The Father’s Warning
“You get uncomfortable. That’s what strength does. Every fighter goes through an inkling of doubt before the fight,” Norman Jr. said. said. “When you’re in doubt and you go in there and deal with a person who’s looking down on you. You know what’s at stake. It’s going to be tough to deal with. You’ll see it on November 22.”
If Devin doesn’t get “uncomfortable”, he could end up getting knocked out cold or repeatedly dropped by one of Norman’s big shots. Haney looked like a human yo-yo as Ryan Garcia kept knocking him down in their fight on April 20, 2024. Garcia dropped Devin six times, but the referee only counted three of them.
If Ryan had the two-fisted power of Norman Jr. had, Haney would not have made it out of round seven. It was the one where he was repeatedly knocked down by Kingry.
He doesn’t have the guts to stand and trade with 24-year-old Norman Jr. We’ve seen this time and time again in Devin’s fights. That’s why he holds and moves like that. The push resistance is not there.
31 days.. victory InshaAllah 🤲🏽
