
Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj finally spoke of his release Indiastaff for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026admitted that representing the country in a global tournament remains a lifelong dream for every cricketer. While admitting his disappointment at the defeat, Siraj struck a mature and balanced note, expressing his full confidence in the current squad and reiterating his commitment to be ready whenever the team calls on him.

Siraj revealed that playing in the World Cup is something every player aspires for, regardless of the format. Part of India’s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign in 2024, the Hyderabad-born pacer understands the magnitude of such tournaments and the emotions surrounding selection calls.
“Obviously, playing in the World Cup is the dream of every player” Siraj said while addressing the media ahead of the third ODI New Zealand.
“I played T20 World Cup last time but not this time. These are part of cricketer’s journey” Siraj added.
Despite being left out of the 2026 edition, Siraj made it clear that there is no bitterness, only acceptance and motivation to keep pushing his limits.

The 30-year-old fast bowler was quick to confirm the selectors’ decision, saying that the selected squad looked balanced and in excellent form. With India focusing on younger, format-friendly players for the shortest version of the game, Siraj acknowledged the direction taken by the team management.
Siraj also expressed hope that India can successfully defend the crown, adding confidently that the trophy belongs to the country for now and should continue to stay there.
“The squad looks very good on paper. Everyone is fit and that’s what matters when they go to a big tournament. I just want to wish them the best of luck, the trophy is here for now and it has to stay.” Siraj added further.
