Players’ rankings as the saints avoid the unwanted Premier League history

Manchester City lost ground in the race to qualify for the Champions League, as they fell to a 0-0 draw with Southampton, which kept only a third net sheet in its last 48 games to thwart visitors.

Southampton accepted his state as subdogs and focused on defense. They gave the city more than 70% of possession in the first half, but did not give a shot to the destination until the Ruben long -range strike days five minutes before half the time was saved.

Bernardo Silva saw an effort erased from the line and Manuel Akanji saved Aaron Ramsdale smart as the city sought to have his dominance after the restart. Omar Marmoush crashed the bar in a stop time, as it became clear that Pep Guardiola’s side would not find a path.

Despite the best efforts of the city, the saints remained firm and snatched an invaluable point that see them avoiding the worst side of the Premier League history. Now with 12 points in his name, 2024/25 Southampton better the 11 points returned by Derby County in 2007/08.
