Arsenal had the striker Mikel Merino to thank him when they won a rarely convincing victory on Leicester City on Saturday.
With so many key advantages for injuries, it was not surprising to see the struggle for the fluidity of the Arsenal’s front line. Forward Leandro Trossard began to have a good number of half a step before the interval, but perhaps the best opportunity of the first half came with the penultimate kick as Wilfred Ndidi directed Agonizing.
There was certainly more energy about the Gunners in the second part. The aggravable Ethan Nwaneri hit the carpentry twice, but the Arsenal continued to fight to create possibilities, with the Merino midfielder he left the bench to help fill the void in attack.
With ten minutes to leave, Merino saved the day, appearing with a head to guide the Nwaneri Cross to the back of the Hermansen Mads Network Publication to remove any questions about the result.
