Real Madrid returned to the second in the league on Sunday afternoon after crossing Girona 2-0 in the Spanish capital.
The victories for Atlético Madrid and Barcelona meant that Los Blancos began the day to third place, increasing the pressure on the side of Carlo Ancelotti for the visit of Girona.
The two goalkeepers attracted the first savings, with the attack on Madrid Superstrella, in the absence of Jude Bellingham, often threatening the counterattack, but could not deliver the final touch. Girona struggled to affirm control, but settled in the ease when they settled in its defensive block.
The visitors had one or two moments in the opening period, but Thibaut Courtois saved from Donny van de Beek before Viktor Tsygankov had a good chance. Michel’s side was paid before half the time, while Luka Modric crashed at home with an excellent opening goal from a distance.
Madrid chose to cross after leading leadership, with the threat of Girona relatively tamed, while the hosts tried to hit for the second time. Vinicius Junior began taking over, dominating his flank and approached the leadership of the hosts when his fierce effort of the distance struck the crossbar. The Brazilian intended to end his long drought in the league in the second half.
After cutting infield and shooting high, Vini finally got his name on the card for the final ten minutes. The end went home from the beautiful MBAPPE pass to seal the points in Madrid.
