Manchester City secured a much-needed 3-1 win at home to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
Wounded for second half collapse against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night, City stumbled into an early deficit in front of their own fans. A weak back pass from debutant Abdukodir Khusanov was met by a hungry and well-rested Chelsea side as Noni Madueke hit the Blues in front after just three minutes.

City took the lead through that familiar figure of Erling Haaland. Latching on to a long forward pass from Ederson – which was a regular theme in the second half – the City number nine punished Robert Sanchez’s poor positioning, breaking the Chelsea goalkeeper from the right corner of the area in the 68th minute.
