The G740 reverses the profile
The recent trend in both game-improving and super-game irons is to make irons look like non-game-improving irons. Most of the time, this involves building hollow blade-like models where the assistive technologies are all hidden inside.

Like I said, this is how club building worked in the old days, like 2012.
These days, PING and other companies deftly manipulate the placement of the metal on the head to launch balls at high altitudes. The only way to prevent modern iron shots from entering the ozonosphere is to harden the attic.
The launch/loft formula that PING engineers developed for G740 handcuffs it works very well. The ball goes high, but also spins enough and lands steep enough to stop on the green.
I expected long irons with strong lofts to spin for days after landing. Instead, they settled on the country.
